sponsor information
We work closely with the below sponsors who have made a statement of intent toward the environment and the communities they operate in by investing through us in offset plantings.

John Bradshaw Ltd was originally formed in the mid sixties to diversify from running only a small Dairy/Arable farm.

We progressed during the years from Agricultural contractors through to Plant Hire and even a small building division at one stage.    In 1977 we took over a company that imported Electric Scissor Lifts from the US , that led onto another US manufacturer  Taylor -Dunn supplying our first Electric cargo vehicle, which we still sell today.

John Bradshaw Ltd now manufacture or rather assemble a large range of Electric Tow Tractors, Pedestrian controlled and cargo carrying vehicles built here at Stibbington and now employing some 50 people.

Our customers include all the Car manufactures, most Railway Stations and Major Airports which includes the new Terminal 5 at Heathrow.  A majority of Hospitals and County Councils, Parks and even some of the best known football clubs together with places such as Ascot, The Bank of England, Wimbledon, Silverstone and Wembley, to give some idea of the diverse nature of our business.

Then there is the Golf side, Club Car is the largest Golf car manufacturer in the world selling some 120,000 units a year.  We run their UK operation for them supplying their Dealers as well as having a sales area ourselves, normally keeping several hundred new and used Golf cars in stock.

We also operate a Rental division having nearly 400 vehicles of various types supplying short and long term hires to Industry, Golf and Events.  This has seen the largest expansion for the last two years.

We also have an increasing Vehicle export business having orders at the moment from France ,Portugal, Denmark, Poland, South Africa and Russia.

The industrial electric vehicle market is not a large one compared to the car industry, being more of a specialised and bespoke market, although we would expect to sell over 300 units of industrial vehicles together with distributing some1000 Golf Cars per year.  This is all backed by a large internal stores and a service division which takes care of our customers when problems occur.

Rapanui. Making Eco-Fashion Cool

Rapanui is about making cool eco-fashion for young people; that means clothing that is eco-friendly, ethical and sustainable.

We make clothing from natural organic fabrics in a Fair Wear Foundation audited, wind powered factory, but really what we're about is communication - It's not that people don't care about child labour, the environment, our climate, it's just they don't know. At Rapanui we make it easier for people to see where clothing comes from and how it is made so they can make informed choices. It's called Traceability.
Rapanui was set up by brothers Mart and Rob Drake-Knight in early 2008 now aged 23 and 25 respectively. Through surfing they saw and experienced the changing environment and climate at their local beach and as inspired, unemployed graduates in a recession, they took a different path; if you can't find a job, make one. The aim still is to inform through the brand and mix eco with trend - to make it fashionable for people to go green.

Degrees in Business Administration and Renewable Energy plus an obsession with excellent customer service helped the Drake-Knight brothers establish Rapanui amongst the Top 100 Startups of 2008.

Rapanui won the 2010 Sustainable Business Awards and now employs 12 full time staff in its office in Bembridge. This achievement is even more remarkable considering the brand was founded with only £200 of savings in University halls; recognised when Rapanui won a runners-up place at the 2010 Enterprising Young Brits Awards. The Brothers' ethos of 'doing business the right way' won them a finalist place at the 2010 RSPCA Good Business Awards.

The brand's forte is its radical approach to Sustainability: Rapanui take a total life cycle approach to their product's human, environmental and climatic impact, and address each aspect. This is not a clothing company ticking the green box. This is a company aiming to change the entire fashion industry. Rapanui uses Certified Organic fabrics, Fair-Trade labour and Renewable Energy.

Rapanui has held Seminars and Lectures at UK and EU universities and multinational companies such as Centrica PLC on Sustainable Business and sit on the Panel at Plymouth University's All our Futures Conference. These events have helped Rapanui share their Eco-Labelling idea, a way of packaging textiles products to communicate the effects caused by their buying action, essentially a way of forcing and regulating transparent business ethics in textiles. Rapanui also hosts the national petition for Textiles Eco-Labelling at 10 Downing Street.

This year, the range of products and styles has expanded along with the business. With a more edgy, youthful twist on its own-label collection, and a range of bespoke and wholesale organic clothing to offer, Rapanui is a company that has found confidence in achievement.

Rob and Martin Drake-Knight are listed on the Future 100 List of Top young Ethical Entrepreneurs.

Baba+Boo is run by Eve, who started her business purely because when baby number 2 came along, money was tight and she was looking for ways to save money…and using cloth nappies was one of them! Cloth nappies didn’t seem to be very popular at all in her area and after doing a bit of digging, she realised one of the reasons for this , were the expensive set-up costs which made them un-appealing to mums. Being a buyer in her previous life, she decided to see what she could do to source them at a cheaper price without compromising on quality.

A year down the line and many thousands of Baba+Boo nappies, http://www.babaandboo.com/reusable_nappies_singles_shop, sold and many happy mums and babies giving excellent feedback, Baba+Boo are slowly becoming a little brand in the cloth nappy world. Eve believes that starting to use cloth nappies can be daunting and this couldn’t be further than the truth. By selling nappies amongst other babies items such as shoes, bibs, potty training pants and hats, she hopes mums may just decide to give one a go and hopefully never look back!

Baba+Boo’s lovely items are from abroad, ensuring the manufacturers follow ethical guidelines but she did have a conscience about the miles the products are travelling and has decided to offset the carbon the shipments create. Great news for Baba+Boo customers…they do not need to have a conscience!

Eve is always on hand to give advice and answer any questions about any of her products. For more information visit their website www.babaandboo.com
